Hello lovely people,

Spring is finally blooming and I’d like to share a new song of mine with you along with a few things I’m listening to & some news about touring.

The idea behind my new song ‘Josephine’ was – what I would say to my younger self or a young person to give reassurance and instil a sense of calm for a moment in a song. The song is called ‘Josephine’ after my friend’s little girl. It was a working title at first but it seemed to stick and suit the spirit of the music.

I’d like to thank the amazing singer-songwriter Kirsty Almeida for her help and encouragement with writing this song. She really helped me think about what it was I wanted to say with the lyrics as we sat sifting through Mary Oliver poetry books searching for inspiration together and she really motivated me to finish this song.

It also features wonderful musicians – John Ellis on the piano, Gavin Barras on the double bass and Rich Williams who co-produced it with me.

You can listen to ‘Josephine’ here

It’s not long until my album “Constellation” is out – May 24th!  It’s available on CD/Vinyl/limited edition transparent clear vinyl which you can pre-order now.

Here is a little corner of some of my favourite music discoveries recently which have been sparking my imagination and filling me with inspiration –

Homelife – ‘Sunday Streets’
Granny Smith – ‘River of Memory ii’
Sandrayati – ‘Vast’
Georgie Buchanan – ‘Eagle’s Whistle’
Fergus McCreadie – ‘Chorale’
